N o se fijen en mi piel morena; es que el sol posó en mí su mirada. Mis hermanos se enojaron contra mí y me pusieron a cuidar las viñas; y yo, que soy mi propia viña, no me cuidé.

Don’t stare at me because I am dark, because the sun has scorched me. My mother’s sons were angry with me. They made me keeper of the vineyards. I haven’t kept my own vineyard.
