P ero el Señor no quiso destruir la casa de David, por causa del pacto que había hecho con David y porque le había prometido mantener siempre encendida su lámpara y la de sus hijos.

Howbeit Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children alway.
