T otuşi Domnul nu a dorit să nimicească Casa lui David datorită legământului încheiat cu David, potrivit căruia El îi promisese că-i va da, pentru totdeauna, o lumină lui şi urmaşilor lui.

Howbeit Jehovah would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his children alway.
