E l a cumpărat de la Şemer dealul Samariei cu doi talanţi de argint; apoi a zidit o cetate pe deal şi i-a pus numele Samaria, după numele lui Şemer, fostul proprietar al dealului.

Omri bought the hill Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver. He built a city on the hill and fortified it, and called it Samaria (Shomeron), after the owner of the hill, Shemer.
