N ow the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known to me its interpretation; but they could not show the interpretation of the thing.

Ora hanno fatto venire alla mia presenza i savi e gli astrologi perché leggessero questa scritta e me ne facessero conoscere l'interpretazione ma non sono stati capaci di darmi l'interpretazione della cosa.
