J oab said, “May Yahweh make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren’t they all my lord’s servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?”

Ioab rispose: «Il Signore renda il suo popolo cento volte più numeroso di quello che è! Ma, o re, mio signore, non sono forse tutti servi del mio signore? Perché il mio signore domanda questo? Perché rendere così Israele colpevole?»
