A t the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out, Joab led out the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. Joab struck Rabbah, and overthrew it.

L’anno seguente, nel tempo in cui i re cominciano la guerra, Ioab, alla testa di un poderoso esercito, andò a devastare il paese dei figli di Ammon e assediò Rabba; ma Davide rimase a Gerusalemme. E Ioab batté Rabba e la distrusse.
