N ow, behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt. If a man leans on it, it will go into his hand, and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

Ora ecco, tu confidi nell’Egitto, in quel sostegno di canna rotta, che penetra nella mano di chi vi si appoggia e gliela fora; così è il faraone, re d’Egitto, per tutti quelli che confidano in lui.
