D avid sent the people out, a third part under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. The king said to the people, “I will also surely go out with you myself.”

Poi Davide mandò avanti un terzo della sua gente sotto il comando di Joab, un terzo sotto il comando di Abishai, figlio di Tseruiah, fratello di Joab, e un terzo sotto il comando di Ittai di Gath. Poi il re disse al popolo: «Voglio andare anch'io con voi!».
