A bsalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. The conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

Absalom aber sandte auch nach Ahithophel, dem Giloniten, Davids Rat, aus seiner Stadt Gilo. Da er nun die Opfer tat, ward der Bund stark, und das Volk lief zu und mehrte sich mit Absalom.
