D aniel propuso en su corazón no contaminarse con la porción de la comida del rey ni con el vino que él bebía; pidió, por tanto, al jefe de los eunucos que no se le obligara a contaminarse.

But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s choice food or with the wine which he drank; so he sought permission from the commander of the officials that he might not defile himself.
