P ero los israelitas volvieron a pedir ayuda al Señor, y él volvió a levantar a otro libertador. Eligió a un benjaminita zurdo llamado Aod hijo de Gera. Un día, los israelitas enviaron un regalo a Eglón, rey de Moab, por medio de Aod.

But when the children of Israel cried unto Jehovah, Jehovah raised them up a saviour, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a man left-handed. And the children of Israel sent tribute by him unto Eglon the king of Moab.
