E ntonces el pueblo de Israel envió mensajeros al rey de Edom, y le pidió permiso para pasar por su territorio; pero el rey de Edom no los escuchó. También pidió permiso al rey de Moab, pero él tampoco les permitió pasar, así que Israel se quedó en Cades.

then Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Please let me pass through your land;’ but the king of Edom didn’t listen. In the same way, he sent to the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel stayed in Kadesh.
