E ster, hija de Abijaíl, a quien Mardoqueo había adoptado como hija, se ganaba el favor de todos los que la veían. Y cuando le llegó su turno de presentarse ante el rey, no pidió nada más que lo que le recomendó Jegay, el eunuco del rey y guardián de las mujeres.
