Î nsă Israel l-a învins, măcelărindu-l cu sabia. Apoi i-a luat în stăpânire ţara de la Arnon până la Iabok, până la hotarul cu amoniţii, căci amoniţii îşi întăriseră hotarul.

And Israel smote the king of the Amorites with the edge of the sword and possessed his land from the river Arnon to the river Jabbok, as far as the Ammonites, for the boundary of the Ammonites was strong.
