C ând Faraon a lăsat poporul să plece, Dumnezeu nu i-a condus prin ţara filistenilor, deşi era mai aproape, pentru că Dumnezeu a zis: „S-ar putea ca poporul să se răzgândească şi să se întoarcă în Egipt, dacă va trebui să poarte război.“

When Pharaoh let the people go, God led them not by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was nearer; for God said, Lest the people change their purpose when they see war and return to Egypt.
