ş i i-am răspuns împăratului: – Să trăiască împăratul pe vecie! Cum să nu am faţa tristă când cetatea unde se află mormintele strămoşilor mei este în ruine, iar porţile ei au fost mistuite de foc?

I said to the king, “Let the king live forever! Why shouldn’t my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ tombs, lies waste, and its gates have been consumed with fire?”
