L a începutul anului, pe vremea când regii porneau la război, Ioab şi-a condus luptătorii la război. Ei au pustiit ţara amoniţilor şi au asediat Raba. David însă rămăsese la Ierusalim. Ioab a cucerit Raba şi a distrus-o.

After the end of the year, when kings go out to battle, Joab led forth the army and devastated the land of the Ammonites, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried at Jerusalem. Joab smote Rabbah and overthrew it.
