D avid le-a ieşit în întâmpinare şi i-a îndemnat astfel: – Dacă veniţi la mine cu gânduri bune, ca să mă ajutaţi, atunci inima mea se va uni cu voi, dar dacă vreţi să mă trădaţi duşmanilor mei, deşi nu sunt vinovat de nici o nelegiuire, Dumnezeul strămoşilor noştri să vadă şi să judece!

David went out to meet them and said to them, If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, although there is no violence or wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look upon and rebuke you.
