I ehoiachin era în vârstă de optsprezece ani când a devenit rege şi a domnit la Ierusalim timp de trei luni. Mama sa se numea Nehuşta şi era fiica lui Elnatan din Ierusalim.

Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned in Jerusalem three months: and his mother's name was Nehushta the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem.
