D upă aceea, Ezechia, regele lui Iuda, a trimis următorul mesaj împăratului Asiriei, care se afla în Lachiş: „Am greşit! Depărtează-te de mine şi îţi voi da orice îmi vei cere!“ Împăratul Asiriei a cerut de la Ezechia, regele lui Iuda, trei sute de talanţi de argint şi treizeci de talanţi de aur.

And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria to Lachish, saying, I have offended; return from me: that which thou puttest on me will I bear. And the king of Assyria appointed unto Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
