P e vremea lui David a fost o foamete timp de trei ani la rând. David L-a întrebat pe Domnul şi Domnul i-a zis: „Din cauza lui Saul şi a Casei lui sângeroase a venit această foamete, deoarece i-a ucis pe ghivoniţi.“

There was a three-year famine in the days of David, year after year; and David inquired of the Lord. The Lord replied, It is on account of Saul and his bloody house, for he put to death the Gibeonites.
