T hen Menahem son of Gadi went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed him and became king in his place.

وَصَعِدَ مَناحِيمُ بْنُ جادِي مِنْ تِرْصَةَ إلَى السّامِرَةِ. وَقَتَلَ شَلُومَ بْنَ يابِيشَ. وَتَوَلَّى الحُكْمَ بَعدَهُ.
