N a ka whakatata koutou, ka tu hoki i raro iho o te maunga; ko te maunga hoki ka tonu i te ahi, a kakati noa ki waenganui o te rangi, te pouri! te kapua! na, pouri kerekere.

You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the very heart of the heavens: darkness, cloud and thick gloom.
