K ua oti koe te tinihanga e te whakapehapeha o tou ngakau, e koe e noho na i nga kapiti o te kamaka, kei runga na tona nohoanga; e mea na i roto i tona ngakau, Ko wai hei whakahoki iho i ahau ki raro ki te whenua?

The pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?
