N a enei mea ahau i tangi ai: ko toku kanohi, tarere ana te wai o toku kanohi: no te mea kei tawhiti atu i ahau te kaiwhakamarie hei whakahauora ake i toku wairua: ko aku tamariki kei te noho kau noa iho, no te mea kua kaha te hoariri.

For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water; Because the comforter that should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy hath prevailed.
