K ei te haere mai he raiona i tona urupuia rakau, kei te ara ano he kaiwhakangaro mo nga tauiwi; kei te ara ia, kua puta mai ia i tona wahi; hei whakangaro i tou whenua, hei mea i ou pa kia ururua, kahore he tangata hei noho.

A lion is gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations; he is on his way, he is gone forth from his place, to make thy land desolate, that thy cities be laid waste, without inhabitant.
