H eoi kaua e inoi mo tenei iwi; kei ara hoki tetahi tangi, tetahi kupu wawao mo ratou; no te mea e kore ahau e rongo i te wa e karanga ai ratou ki ahau, ina raru ratou.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
