H ei aha maku a koutou patunga maha? e ai ta Ihowa: kua makona ahau i nga tahunga o nga tinana o nga hipi toa, i te ngako o nga kararehe whangai; kahore hoki aku manakohanga atu ki te toto o nga puru, o nga reme, o nga koati toa ranei.

What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I have had enough of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats.
