S iehe, ich will daselbst stehen vor dir auf einem Fels am Horeb; da sollst du den Fels schlagen, so wird Wasser herauslaufen, daß das Volk trinke. Mose tat also vor den Ältesten von Israel.

See, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb. When you hit the rock, water will come out of it and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, with the leaders of Israel watching.
