U nd David sprach zu Joab und zu des Volkes Obersten: Gehet hin, zählt Israel von Beer-Seba an bis gen Dan und bringt es zu mir, daß ich wisse, wieviel ihrer sind.

David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, “Go, count Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know how many there are.”
