C osí avvenne che, all'inizio del nuovo anno, l'esercito dei Siri salí contro Joas. Essi vennero in Giuda e a Gerusalemme, e sterminarono fra il popolo tutti i suoi capi, e ne inviarono l'intero bottino al re di Damasco.

At the end of the year, the army of Syria came up against Joash. They came to Judah and Jerusalem and destroyed all the princes from among the people and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus.
