C osí essi entrarono per offrire sacrifici e olocausti. Ora Jehu aveva appostato fuori del tempio ottanta uomini, ai quali aveva detto: «Se qualcuno lascerà fuggire uno solo degli uomini che metto nelle vostre mani, pagherà con la propria vita la vita di quel tale».

Then they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings. Now Jehu had stationed for himself eighty men outside, and he had said, “ The one who permits any of the men whom I bring into your hands to escape shall give up his life in exchange.”
