A nd the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in my hand, yet I would not put forth my hand against the king’s son, for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that no one touch the young man Absalom.

Der Mann sprach zu Joab: Wenn du mir tausend Silberlinge in meine Hand gewogen hättest, so wollte ich dennoch meine Hand nicht an des Königs Sohn gelegt haben; denn der König gebot dir und Abisai und Itthai vor unsern Ohren und sprach: Hütet euch, daß nicht jemand dem Knaben Absalom...!
