N ow for a long season Israel was without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law:

ظَلَّتْ إسْرائِيلُ زَمَناً طَويلاً مِنْ غَيْرِ اللهِ الحَقيقِيِّ. وَظَلَّ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ غَيرِ كاهِنٍ يُعَلّمُهُمْ، وَمِنْ غَيرِ شَريعَةٍ.
