P orque eu o tenho escolhido, a fim de que ele ordene a seus filhos e a sua casa depois dele, para que guardem o caminho do Senhor, para praticarem retidão e justiça; a fim de que o Senhor faça vir sobre Abraão o que a respeito dele tem falado.

For I have known (chosen, acknowledged) him, so that he may teach and command his children and the sons of his house after him to keep the way of the Lord and to do what is just and righteous, so that the Lord may bring Abraham what He has promised him.
