1 В оздайте хвалу Господу потому что Он благ и милость Его навеки!

Praise ye Jehovah. Oh give thanks unto Jehovah; for he is good; For his lovingkindness endureth forever.

2 К то выразит могущество Господа и возвестит всю Его славу?

Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, Or show forth all his praise?

3 Б лаженны те, кто хранит правосудие и вершит праведные дела во все времена!

Blessed are they that keep justice, And he that doeth righteousness at all times.

4 В спомни меня, Господи, во время благоволения к Своему народу, помоги и мне, когда будешь спасать их,

Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor that thou bearest unto thy people; Oh visit me with thy salvation,

5 ч тобы я увидел благополучие Твоих избранных, возвеселился вместе с Твоим народом и хвалился – с Твоим наследием.

That I may see the prosperity of thy chosen, That I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, That I may glory with thine inheritance.

6 М ы согрешили, как и наши предки, совершили беззаконие, поступили нечестиво.

We have sinned with our fathers, We have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.

7 О тцы наши не поняли Твоих чудес в Египте, забыли обилие Твоей милости и возмутились у моря, у Красного моря.

Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; They remembered not the multitude of thy lovingkindnesses, But were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.

8 О н все же спас их ради Своего Имени, чтобы показать Свое могущество.

Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, That he might make his mighty power to be known.

9 О н приказал Красному морю, и оно высохло, и провел Он их через его глубины, как по пустыне.

He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up: So he led them through the depths, as through a wilderness.

10 С пас их от рук ненавидящего их, избавил их от руки врага.

And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, And redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.

11 В оды покрыли противников их, не осталось ни одного.

And the waters covered their adversaries; There was not one of them left.

12 Т огда поверили они Его словам и воспели Ему хвалу.

Then believed they his words; They sang his praise.

13 Н о вскоре забыли Его дела, не ждали Его совета.

They soon forgat his works; They waited not for his counsel,

14 В озгорелись страстным желанием в пустыне и испытывали Бога в необитаемой местности.

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.

15 О н дал им желаемое, но послал истощение в их души.

And he gave them their request, But sent leanness into their soul.

16 О ни позавидовали Моисею в лагере и Аарону, святому Господню.

They envied Moses also in the camp, And Aaron the saint of Jehovah.

17 З емля разверзлась и поглотила Датана и все скопище Авирама.

The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, And covered the company of Abiram.

18 В озгорелся огонь посреди них, и пламя сожгло нечестивых.

And a fire was kindled in their company; The flame burned up the wicked.

19 О ни сделали изваяние быка в Хориве и поклонились истукану,

They made a calf in Horeb, And worshipped a molten image.

20 п роменяли свою Славу на изображение быка, питающегося травой.

Thus they changed their glory For the likeness of an ox that eateth grass.

21 З абыли Бога, своего Спасителя, сотворившего великие дела в Египте,

They forgat God their Saviour, Who had done great things in Egypt,

22 ч удеса в земле Хама и устрашающие дела у Красного моря.

Wondrous works in the land of Ham, And terrible things by the Red Sea.

23 П оэтому Он сказал, что погубил бы их, если бы Моисей, избранный Его, не встал перед Ним в расселине, чтобы отвратить Его ярость, чтобы Он не погубил их.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, Had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, To turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.

24 И пренебрегли они землей желанной, не поверили Его обещанию,

Yea, they despised the pleasant land, They believed not his word,

25 р оптали в своих шатрах и не слушались голоса Господа.

But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of Jehovah.

26 П оэтому Он поклялся с поднятой рукой, что поразит их в пустыне,

Therefore he sware unto them, That he would overthrow them in the wilderness,

27 а также их потомков среди народов, и рассеет их по землям.

And that he would overthrow their seed among the nations, And scatter them in the lands.

28 О ни присоединились к Баал-Пеору и ели жертвы, принесенные бездушным.

They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, And ate the sacrifices of the dead.

29 Р аздражали Его своими делами, и разразился среди них мор.

Thus they provoked him to anger with their doings; And the plague brake in upon them.

30 Н о поднялся Пинехас, произвел суд, и мор прекратился,

Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment; And so the plague was stayed.

31 Э то вменилось в праведность ему и всем его поколениям навсегда.

And that was reckoned unto him for righteousness, Unto all generations for evermore.

32 Е ще они прогневали Его у вод Меривы, и Моисей был наказан из-за них,

They angered him also at the waters of Meribah, So that it went ill with Moses for their sakes;

33 п отому что они возмутили его дух, и он погрешил своими устами.

Because they were rebellious against his spirit, And he spake unadvisedly with his lips.

34 Н е уничтожили они народы, о которых сказал им Господь,

They did not destroy the peoples, As Jehovah commanded them,

35 а смешались с язычниками и научились их делам;

But mingled themselves with the nations, And learned their works,

36 с лужили их идолам, которые стали для них сетью.

And served their idols, Which became a snare unto them.

37 П риносили демонам в жертву своих сыновей и дочерей;

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,

38 п роливали невинную кровь, кровь своих сыновей и дочерей, которых жертвовали ханаанским идолам, и земля осквернилась кровью.

And shed innocent blood, Even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, Whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with blood.

39 О ни оскверняли себя своими делами, прелюбодействовали своими поступками.

Thus were they defiled with their works, And played the harlot in their doings.

40 П оэтому возгорелся гнев Господень на Свой народ, и возгнушался Он Своим наследием.

Therefore was the wrath of Jehovah kindled against his people, And he abhorred his inheritance.

41 О н отдал их в руки чужеземцев, и ненавидящие Израиль властвовали над ними.

And he gave them into the hand of the nations; And they that hated them ruled over them.

42 В раги притесняли их, и они смирились под их рукой.

Their enemies also oppressed them, And they were brought into subjection under their hand.

43 М ного раз Он избавлял их, но они гневили Его своим упрямством и были унижены в своем беззаконии.

Many times did he deliver them; But they were rebellious in their counsel, And were brought low in their iniquity.

44 В се же Он обращал внимание на их скорбь, когда слышал их вопль,

Nevertheless he regarded their distress, When he heard their cry:

45 в споминал о Своем завете с ними и смягчался по Своей великой милости.

And he remembered for them his covenant, And repented according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

46 О н вызывал к ним сострадание со стороны всех, кто пленял их.

He made them also to be pitied Of all those that carried them captive.

47 С паси нас, Господи, наш Бог, и собери нас из среды народов, чтобы мы воздали благодарность Твоему святому Имени и хвалились Твоей славой. Заключительное благословение четвертой книги

Save us, O Jehovah our God, And gather us from among the nations, To give thanks unto thy holy name, And to triumph in thy praise.

48 П рославлен будь, Господь, Бог Израиля, от века до века! И весь народ пусть скажет: «Аминь!» Аллилуйя!

Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye Jehovah.
