1 F ue Moisés y habló estas palabras a todo Israel,

Then Moses went and spoke these words to all Israel.

2 y les dijo: Hoy tengo ciento veinte años; ya no puedo ir ni venir, y el Señor me ha dicho: “No pasarás este Jordán.”

And he said to them: “I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer go out and come in. Also the Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross over this Jordan.’

3 E l Señor tu Dios pasará delante de ti; El destruirá estas naciones delante de ti y las desalojarás. Josué es el que pasará delante de ti, tal como el Señor ha dicho.

The Lord your God Himself crosses over before you; He will destroy these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua himself crosses over before you, just as the Lord has said.

4 Y el Señor hará con ellos como hizo con Sehón y con Og, reyes de los amorreos, y con su tierra cuando El los destruyó.

And the Lord will do to them as He did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites and their land, when He destroyed them.

5 Y los entregará el Señor delante de vosotros y haréis con ellos conforme a los mandamientos que os he ordenado.

The Lord will give them over to you, that you may do to them according to every commandment which I have commanded you.

6 S ed firmes y valientes, no temáis ni os aterroricéis ante ellos, porque el Señor tu Dios es el que va contigo; no te dejará ni te desamparará.

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

7 E ntonces llamó Moisés a Josué y le dijo en presencia de todo Israel: Sé firme y valiente, porque tú entrarás con este pueblo en la tierra que el Señor ha jurado a sus padres que les daría, y se la darás en heredad.

Then Moses called Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and of good courage, for you must go with this people to the land which the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall cause them to inherit it.

8 E l Señor irá delante de ti; El estará contigo, no te dejará ni te desamparará; no temas ni te acobardes. Ultimas disposiciones de Moisés

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” The Law to Be Read Every Seven Years

9 Y escribió Moisés esta ley y la dio a los sacerdotes, hijos de Leví, que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor, y a todos los ancianos de Israel.

So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel.

10 E ntonces Moisés les ordenó, diciendo: Al fin de cada siete años, durante el tiempo del año de la remisión de deudas, en la fiesta de los tabernáculos,

And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of release, at the Feast of Tabernacles,

11 c uando todo Israel venga a presentarse delante del Señor tu Dios en el lugar que El escoja, leerás esta ley delante de todo Israel, a oídos de ellos.

when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses, you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 C ongrega al pueblo, hombres, mujeres y niños, y al forastero que está en tu ciudad, para que escuchen, aprendan a temer al Señor tu Dios, y cuiden de observar todas las palabras de esta ley.

Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law,

13 Y sus hijos, que no la conocen, la oirán y aprenderán a temer al Señor vuestro Dios, mientras viváis en la tierra adonde vosotros vais, cruzando al otro lado del Jordán para poseerla.

and that their children, who have not known it, may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.” Prediction of Israel’s Rebellion

14 E ntonces dijo el Señor a Moisés: He aquí, el tiempo de tu muerte está cerca; llama a Josué y presentaos en la tienda de reunión para que yo le dé mis órdenes. Fueron, pues, Moisés y Josué y se presentaron en la tienda de reunión.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, the days approach when you must die; call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of meeting, that I may inaugurate him.” So Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves in the tabernacle of meeting.

15 Y se apareció el Señor en la tienda en una columna de nube, y la columna de nube se puso a la entrada de la tienda.

Now the Lord appeared at the tabernacle in a pillar of cloud, and the pillar of cloud stood above the door of the tabernacle.

16 Y el Señor dijo a Moisés: He aquí, tú vas a dormir con tus padres; y este pueblo se levantará y fornicará tras los dioses extranjeros de la tierra en la cual va a entrar, y me dejará y quebrantará mi pacto que hice con él.

And the Lord said to Moses: “Behold, you will rest with your fathers; and this people will rise and play the harlot with the gods of the foreigners of the land, where they go to be among them, and they will forsake Me and break My covenant which I have made with them.

17 Y se encenderá mi ira contra él en aquel día; los abandonaré y esconderé mi rostro de ellos. Será consumido, y muchos males y tribulaciones vendrán sobre él, por lo que dirá en aquel día: “¿No será porque mi Dios no está en medio de mí que me han alcanzado estos males ?”

Then My anger shall be aroused against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’

18 P ero ciertamente esconderé mi rostro en aquel día por todo el mal que habrá hecho, pues se volverá a otros dioses.

And I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.

19 A hora pues, escribid este cántico para vosotros, y tú, enséñaselo a los hijos de Israel; ponlo en su boca, para que este cántico me sea por testigo contra los hijos de Israel.

“Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel.

20 P orque cuando yo los introduzca en la tierra que mana leche y miel, la cual juré a sus padres, y ellos coman y se sacien y prosperen, se volverán a otros dioses y los servirán, y me despreciarán y quebrantarán mi pacto.

When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and filled themselves and grown fat, then they will turn to other gods and serve them; and they will provoke Me and break My covenant.

21 S ucederá entonces que cuando muchos males y tribulaciones vengan sobre ellos, este cántico declarará contra ellos como testigo (pues no lo olvidarán los labios de sus descendientes ); porque yo conozco el plan que ahora están urdiendo antes de que los traiga a la tierra que juré darles.

Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify against them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten in the mouths of their descendants, for I know the inclination of their behavior today, even before I have brought them to the land of which I swore to give them. ”

22 Y escribió Moisés este cántico aquel mismo día, y lo enseñó a los hijos de Israel.

Therefore Moses wrote this song the same day, and taught it to the children of Israel.

23 E ntonces El nombró a Josué, hijo de Nun, y le dijo: Sé fuerte y valiente, pues tú llevarás a los hijos de Israel a la tierra que les he jurado, y yo estaré contigo. La ley se coloca junto al arca

Then He inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said, “Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”

24 Y sucedió que cuando Moisés terminó de escribir las palabras de esta ley en un libro, hasta su conclusión,

So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished,

25 M oisés ordenó a los levitas que llevaban el arca del pacto del Señor, diciendo:

that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying:

26 T omad este libro de la ley y colocadlo junto al arca del pacto del Señor vuestro Dios, para que permanezca allí como testigo contra vosotros.

“Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there as a witness against you;

27 P orque conozco vuestra rebelión y vuestra obstinación; he aquí, estando yo hoy todavía vivo con vosotros, habéis sido rebeldes contra el Señor; ¿cuánto más lo seréis después de mi muerte?

for I know your rebellion and your stiff neck. If today, while I am yet alive with you, you have been rebellious against the Lord, then how much more after my death?

28 R eunid ante mí a todos los ancianos de vuestras tribus y a vuestros oficiales, para que hable estas palabras a sus oídos, y ponga a los cielos y a la tierra como testigos en su contra.

Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their hearing and call heaven and earth to witness against them.

29 P orque yo sé que después de mi muerte os corromperéis y os apartaréis del camino que os he mandado; y el mal vendrá sobre vosotros en los postreros días, pues haréis lo que es malo a la vista del Señor, provocándole a ira con la obra de vuestras manos.

For I know that after my death you will become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And evil will befall you in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands.” The Song of Moses

30 E ntonces habló Moisés a oídos de toda la asamblea de Israel las palabras de este cántico hasta terminarlas.

Then Moses spoke in the hearing of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song until they were ended:
