1 A nd when David was a little past the top of the ascent, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and a hundred clusters of raisins, and a hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

Когато Давид беше превалил върха на хълма, Мемфивостеевият слуга Сива го срещна с два оседлани осела, на които имаше двеста хляба, сто грозда сухо грозде, сто наниза летни плодове и един мях с вино.

2 A nd the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses are for the king's household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.

Царят попита Сива: Защо носиш това? А Сива отвърна: Ослите са, за да язди царското семейство, хлябовете и летните плодове - за да ги ядат момците, а виното - за да пият онези, които изнемощеят в пустинята.

3 A nd the king said, And where is thy master's son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem; for he said, To-day will the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.

Тогава царят каза: Къде е синът на господаря ти? Сива му отговори: Остана в Йерусалим, защото си каза: Днес Израелевият дом ще ми възвърне бащиното ми царство.

4 T hen said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine is all that pertaineth unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I do obeisance; let me find favor in thy sight, my lord, O king.

Царят каза на Сива: Твой е целият Мемфивостеев имот. И Сива каза: Кланям ти се. Нека придобия твоето благоволение, господарю мой, царю.

5 A nd when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out, and cursed still as he came.

А когато цар Давид стигна във Ваурим, оттам излезе един човек от семейството на Сауловия дом на име Семей, Гираев син. И като излезе, вървеше и проклинаше.

6 A nd he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.

И хвърляше камъни върху Давид и върху всичките му слуги. А целият народ и всички силни мъже бяха отдясно му и отляво му.

7 A nd thus said Shimei when he cursed, Begone, begone, thou man of blood, and base fellow:

Семей, като проклинаше, говореше така: Излез, излез, убиецо и беззаконнико!

8 J ehovah hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and Jehovah hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son; and, behold, thou art taken in thine own mischief, because thou art a man of blood.

Господ докара върху тебе цялата кръв на дома на Саул, вместо когото ти се възцари. Господ предаде царството в ръката на сина ти Авесалом. Ето те в нещастието ти, защото си убиец.

9 T hen said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.

Тогава Ависей, Саруиният син, каза на царя: Защо това мъртво куче да кълне господаря ми, царя? Позволи ми да мина отсреща и да му отсека главата.

10 A nd the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? Because he curseth, and because Jehovah hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?

А царят отговори: Какво общо има между мен и вас, Саруини синове? Когато кълне и когато Господ му е казал: Прокълни Давид, кой може да му каже: Защо правиш така?

11 A nd David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more may this Benjamite now do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for Jehovah hath bidden him.

Давид каза още на Ависей и на всичките си слуги: Синът ми, който е излязъл от чреслата ми, търси да отнеме живота ми, а колко повече сега този вениаминец! Остави го, нека проклина, защото Господ му е заповядал.

12 I t may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done unto me, and that Jehovah will requite me good for his cursing of me this day.

Може би Господ ще погледне милостиво на унижението ми и ще ми въздаде добро вместо неговото проклинане днес.

13 S o David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hill-side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.

И така, Давид и мъжете му вървяха по пътя; а Семей вървеше край хълма срещу него и проклинаше, като вървеше, хвърляше върху него камъни и прах.

14 A nd the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.

А царят и целият народ, който беше с него, пристигнаха уморени и си починаха там.

15 A nd Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.

В това време Авесалом и целият народ, т. е. Израелевите мъже, дойдоха в Йерусалим, и Ахитофел дойде с него.

16 A nd it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David's friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, Long live the king, Long live the king.

И когато архиецът Хусай, Давидовият приятел, дойде при Авесалом, Хусай каза на Авесалом: Да живее царят! Да живее царят!

17 A nd Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?

А Авесалом го попита: Това ли е благостта ти към приятеля ти? Защо не отиде с приятеля си?

18 A nd Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom Jehovah, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him will I abide.

Хусай отвърна на Авесалом: Не, а когото Господ и този народ, и всички Израелеви мъже избраха, негов ще бъда и с него ще остана.

19 A nd again, whom should I serve? should I not serve in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father's presence, so will I be in thy presence.

При това на кого ще бъде служенето ми? Не е ли на сина на приятеля ми ? Както съм служил на баща ти, така ще служа и на тебе.

20 T hen said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give your counsel what we shall do.

Тогава Авесалом каза на Ахитофел: Дайте ми съвет какво да правим.

21 A nd Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father's concubines, that he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel will hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then will the hands of all that are with thee be strong.

И Ахитофел каза на Авесалом: Влез при бащините си наложници, които е оставил да пазят къщата. Като чуе целият Израел, че си станал омразен на баща си, ще се укрепят ръцете на всички, които са с теб.

22 S o they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel.

И така, поставиха шатъра за Авесалом върху покрива на къщата, а Авесалом влезе при бащините си наложници пред очите на целия Израел.

23 A nd the counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.

А в онова време съветът, който даваше Ахитофел, беше смятан все едно някой търсеше съвет от слово на Бога; за такъв се смяташе всеки Ахитофелов съвет и от Давид, и от Авесалом.
