1 T hen Job said to the Lord,

Entonces Job respondió al Señor:

2 I know that You can do all things, and that no thought or purpose of Yours can be restrained or thwarted.

“Yo sé que Tú puedes hacer todas las cosas, Y que ninguno de Tus propósitos puede ser frustrado.

3 W ho is this that darkens and obscures counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

¿Quién es éste que oculta el consejo sin entendimiento ?’ Por tanto, he declarado lo que no comprendía, Cosas demasiado maravillosas para mí, que yo no sabía.

4 H ear, I beseech You, and I will speak; I will demand of You, and You declare to me.

Escucha ahora, y hablaré; Te preguntaré y Tú me instruirás.

5 I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.

He sabido de Ti sólo de oídas, Pero ahora mis ojos Te ven.

6 T herefore I loathe and abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes.

Por eso me retracto, Y me arrepiento en polvo y ceniza.”

7 A fter the Lord had spoken the previous words to Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you and against your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.

Después que el Señor habló estas palabras a Job, el Señor dijo a Elifaz el Temanita: “Se ha encendido Mi ira contra ti y contra tus dos amigos, porque no han hablado de Mí lo que es recto, como Mi siervo Job.

8 N ow therefore take seven bullocks and seven rams and go to My servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept that I deal not with you after your folly, in that you have not spoken of Me the thing that is right, as My servant Job has.

Ahora pues, tomen siete novillos y siete carneros, vayan a Mi siervo Job y ofrezcan holocausto por ustedes, y Mi siervo Job orará por ustedes. Porque ciertamente a él atenderé para no hacer con ustedes conforme a su insensatez, porque no han hablado de Mí lo que es recto, como Mi siervo Job.”

9 S o Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; and the Lord accepted.

Y Elifaz el Temanita, y Bildad el Suhita y Zofar el Naamatita fueron e hicieron tal como el Señor les había dicho; y el Señor aceptó a Job.

10 A nd the Lord turned the captivity of Job and restored his fortunes, when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Y el Señor restauró el bienestar de Job cuando éste oró por sus amigos; y el Señor aumentó al doble todo lo que Job había poseído.

11 T hen there came to him all his brothers and sisters and all who had known him before, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they sympathized with him and comforted him over all the calamities that the Lord had brought upon him. Every man also gave him a piece of money, and every man an earring of gold.

Entonces todos sus hermanos y todas sus hermanas y todos los que le habían conocido antes, vinieron a él y comieron con él en su casa; se condolieron de él y lo consolaron por todo el mal que el Señor había traído sobre él. Cada uno le dio una moneda (11. 4 gr) de plata, y cada uno un anillo de oro.

12 A nd the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had 14, 000 sheep, 6, 000 camels, 1, 000 yoke of oxen, and 1, 000 female donkeys.

El Señor bendijo los últimos días de Job más que los primeros; y tuvo 14, 000 ovejas, 6, 000 camellos, 1, 000 yuntas de bueyes y 1, 000 asnas.

13 H e had also seven sons and three daughters.

Tuvo además siete hijos y tres hijas.

14 A nd he called the name of the first Jemimah, and the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-happuch.

Llamó a la primera Jemina, a la segunda Cesia y a la tercera Keren Hapuc.

15 A nd in all the land there were no women so fair as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.

En toda la tierra no se encontraban mujeres tan hermosas como las hijas de Job. Su padre les dio también herencia entre sus hermanos.

16 A fter this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his sons’ sons, even to four generations.

Después de esto vivió Job 140 años, y vio a sus hijos y a los hijos de sus hijos, hasta cuatro generaciones.

17 S o Job died, an old man and full of days.

Y murió Job, anciano y lleno de días.
