1 D emais veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, no ano nono, do décimo mês, aos dez do mês, dizendo:

¶ Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 F ilho do homem, escreve o nome deste dia, deste mesmo dia; o rei de Babilônia acaba de sitiar Jerusalém neste dia.

Son of man, write the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon laid siege against Jerusalem this same day.

3 E propùe ã casa rebelde uma alegoria, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Põe a caldeira ao lume, põe-na, e deita-lhe água dentro;

And speak unto the house of rebellion by parable and say unto them, Thus hath the Lord GOD said; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:

4 m ete nela os pedaços de carne, todos os bons pedaços, a coxa e a espádua; enche-a de ossos escolhidos.

gather her pieces of meat into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

5 E scolhe o melhor do rebanho, ajunta um montão de lenha debaixo da caldeira dos ossos; faze-a ferver bem, e cozam-se dentro dela os seus ossos.

Take the choice of the flock and burn also the bones under it and make it boil well and let them seethe the bones of it therein.

6 P ortanto, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Ai da cidade sanguinária, da caldeira, que está enferrujada por dentro, e cuja ferrugem não saiu dela! tira dela a carne pedaço por pedaço; não caiu sorte sobre ela;

For thus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein and whose scum is not gone out of it! For her pieces, because of her pieces let it be removed; let no lot fall upon it.

7 p orque o seu sangue está no meio dela; sobre uma penha descalvada ela o pôs; não o derramou sobre o chão, para o cobrir com pó.

For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she did not poured it upon the ground, to cover it with dust;

8 F oi para fazer subir a minha indignação para tomar vingança, que eu pus o seu sangue numa penha descalvada, para que não fosse coberto.

that wrath might rise up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the high place of the rock that it should not be covered.

9 P ortanto, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Ai da cidade sanguinária! também eu farei grande a fogueira.

Therefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Woe to the bloody city! I will also make a great fire,

10 A montoa a lenha, acende o fogo, ferve bem a carne, engrossando o caldo, e sejam queimados os ossos.

multiplying the wood, kindling the fire, to consume the flesh and to make the broth, and the bones shall be burned;

11 E ntão a porás vazia sobre as suas brasas, para que ela aqueça, e se derreta o seu cobre, e se funda a sua imundícia no meio dela, e se consuma a sua ferrugem.

setting afterward the empty pot upon the coals thereof that it may become red hot and may burn and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.

12 E la tem-se cansado com trabalhos; contudo não sai dela a sua muita ferrugem pelo fogo.

In fraud she has become weary, and her great scum did not go forth out of her; her scum shall be in the fire.

13 A ferrugem é a tua imundícia de luxúria, porquanto te purifiquei, e tu não te purificaste, não serás purificada nunca da tua imundícia, enquanto eu não tenha satisfeito sobre ti a minha indignação.

In thy perverse filthiness thou shalt die because I have cleansed thee, and thou didst not cleanse thyself from thy uncleanness; thou shalt never cleanse thyself again, until I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

14 E u, o Senhor, o disse: será assim, e o farei; não tornarei atrás, e não pouparei, nem me arrependerei; conforme os teus caminhos, e conforme os teus feitos, te julgarei, diz o Senhor Deus.

I, the LORD, have spoken: I came and worked. I will not turn back, neither will I have mercy, neither will I repent; according to thy ways and according to thy doings, they shall judge thee, said the Lord GOD.

15 T ambém veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

16 F ilho do homem, eis que dum golpe tirarei de ti o desejo dos teus olhos; todavia não te lamentarás, nem chorarás, nem te correrão as lágrimas.

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes by death; yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

17 G eme, porém, em silêncio; não faças lamentação pelos mortos; ata na cabeça o teu turbante, e mete nos pés os teus sapatos; não cubras os teus lábios e não comas o pão dos homens.

Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind thy turban upon thy head, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet and do not cover thy lips and do not eat the bread of comfort.

18 A ssim falei ao povo pela manhã, e ã tarde morreu minha mulher; e fiz pela manhã como se me deu ordem.

So I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

19 E o povo me perguntou: Não nos farás saber o que significam para nós estas coisas que estás fazendo?

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?

20 E ntão lhes respondi: Veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

21 D ize ã casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Eis que eu profanarei o meu santuário, o orgulho do vosso poder, a delícia dos vossos olhos, e o desejo da vossa alma; e vossos filhos e vossas filhas, que deixastes, cairão ã espada.

Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the glory of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the gift of your soul; your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.

22 F areis pois como eu fiz: não vos cobrireis os lábios, e não comereis o pão dos homens;

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips nor eat the bread of men.

23 t ereis na cabeça os vossos turbantes, e os vossos sapatos nos pés; não vos lamentareis, nem chorareis, mas definhar-vos-eis nas vossas iniqüidades, e gemereis uns com os outros.

And your turbans shall be upon your heads and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities and cry out one with another.

24 A ssim vos servirá Ezequiel de sinal; conforme tudo quanto ele fez, assim fareis vós; e quando isso suceder, então sabereis que eu sou o Senhor Deus.

Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you for a sign: according to all that he has done ye shall do: and when this comes, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.

25 T ambém quanto a ti, filho do homem, no dia que eu lhes tirar a sua fortaleza, o gozo do seu ornamento, a delícia dos seus olhos, e o desejo dos seus corações, juntamente com seus filhos e suas filhas,

Also, thou son of man, in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and the care of their souls, their sons and their daughters,

26 n esse dia virá ter contigo algum fugitivo para te trazer as notícias.

that day one that escapes shall come unto thee, to bring the news.

27 N esse dia abrir-se-á a tua boca para com o fugitivo, e falarás, e por mais tempo não ficarás mudo; assim virás a ser para eles um sinal; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

In that day thy mouth shall be opened to speak unto him who is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and no longer be dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
